I’ve just recently discovered I can't type certain adjacent characters in a Lync message without Lync turning them into one of its extensive (I didn't say overblown) collection of emoticons.
This creates terrible problems when I have to send my users various commands to run. For example, if I tell someone to type shell:startup they get a squirrelly face in the middle of the command. I didn't realize this for quite a while and my users, many of them not sophisticated to start with, were utterly confused.
I see all kinds of posts about regulating what I see in messages I receive, but nothing that allows me to disable the #$&% spontaneous and undesired generation of emoticons in messages I send. Please tell me there's a way.
TIA
Mark
