Microsoft Lync has stopped working

I am running on Windows 7 Pro (64bit) with the office 365 including Lync.

After installing Office 365, all applications work find except Lync.  Whenever i try start the program, I get:

"Microsoft Lync has stopped working" whenever I try to load it.

I have looked everywhere on the net, and a few solutions but none that work.

Have tried the office repair, reinstalling lync, and ensuring all other office applications are closed, including Outlook.
