Ever since migrating to Lync I as well as several other users at my firm have been experiencing a couple of issues. The Lync server is internal an we have only one pool.
Often I will be chatting with another user when my messages display a spinning wheel next to it then I'll get an error message "This message was not delivered to (user name) because there was no response from the server". Once that happens I can no longer make contact with anyone but I will remain online. I can not change my status it will remain locked on the current state. Only way to remedy this is for me to log off. When I do so the log off process takes anywhere from 10-20 seconds instead of instantly like normal. Logging back in alleviates the issue temporarily.
Another issue is randomly when i sign in all my contacts will display "Presence unknown" or my status will be changed to offline and my contacts will all display "Updating...".
I've tried updating the client, reinstalling, clearing the Lync cache with no success.
Here's an example of what gets logged in the event viewer.
The description for Event ID 11 from source Lync cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:

Any ideas? I'm convinced there's something is up at the server level and not the client.
