Greetings,
I'm working on an issue here related to Lync pairing between a VDI session running through Citrix XenDesktop and an HP t610 thin client. We use the locked down local User accout on the thin client with Enhanced Write Filtering turned on. It seems that when logging on to the VDI session, Lync starts up automatically as usual and then starts to pair as indicated by the icon in the lower right corner of the Lync window. This icon fades in and out pretty much indefinitely and never succeeds at pairing. All of our desktops, thin clients and virtual desktops use a proxy.pac URL configured in Internet Explorer options to determine the proxy configuration. This works great, but for some reason, the VDI plug-in seems to have trouble with it. If we change the proxy settings on the thin client to use the server address manually configured vs. using the PAC file URL, then pairing will always succeed. The Temporary Internet Files folder is located on a Z: drive (RAM drive) per standard guidance from HP and we can see that the PAC file is being successfully cached to that folder. Browsing to the internet from the VDI session works fine. Can anyone advise as to whether there's a know issue with Lync pairing, the VDI plug-in and a PAC file proxy config? Any other thoughts or guidance would be really appreciated. We have been struggling with this for about 2 months.
Thanks,
Doug
