I'm aware that this may not be the correct category but could not find one for Lync...
I've recently started at a new company and they have thrown me this ticket to see if I can resolve it.
They have Microsoft Lync 2010 installed on every machine and everyone is searchable by name. Works for me, works for everyone else I've come across (on Windows 7 & on Windows XP - I know, they are planning to migrate to W7 soon.)
The issue this user has is that when searching by name, or by email address they get no results. I've done some searching before posting on here and these are the steps I've taken so far:
Deleted the profile's GAL cache from C:\Users\\appdata\local\microsoft\communicator\[sip address].
Checked the GAL connection which seemed fine, but it did note that it couldn't sync the address book.
I have also tried to force it to download the address book immediately by adding the "GalDownloadInitialDelay" registry key rather than waiting for a time between 1 - 60 minuets.
I have re installed Lync completely.
I am at a loss at what to try next, has anyone come across this before and know a solution or even a work around? Thanks in advance.
