This may be a simple question, but I am new to Lync administration and am running into some trouble while trying to deploy Group Chat. We are currently using the Lync IM client without any trouble, and I have set up a test environment for Group Chat. Group Chat is working without any errors, the only problem we have is that it is signing us out of the IM client. Is there any way to use Group Chat and the IM client side-by-side? I have tried to set Group Chat as the primary IM client, but there are some features of the IM client that are missing that we will need.
From what I understood, Group Chat should detect Lync 2010 and not configue it for IM (which it didn't), and that should allow you to use both.
