Can Lync2013 Gallery View as default be overridden on a particular client?

I would like disable Gallery View on specific client machines. Is there a relatively straightforward way to do this such as Policy Editor, registry entry, or perhaps PowerShell calls to Lync SDK?  Would rather not have to write something for Lync2013 in UI Suppression Mode...
