Lync 2013 Trial: Enabling Users to Update Their Own Photo

Hi, everyone!

I've been searching around for an answer, but I haven't found one. I just installed the Lync 2013 Enterprise trial as we look to implement Lync as our new phone system, and I want to introduce it so some users so they can start trying to use it.

I know that one of the first things, I'll be asked is "How do I add my picture?" and I can't seem to figure that out.

I know the Lync for Mac does not allow a user to update their photo and that's fine, but Lync 2013 for Windows doesn't seem to be allowing my to change my photo either (the button is greyed out). So I looked for a GPO setting, but couldn't find one.

I called Get-CsClientPolicy in PowerShell on my Lync Server and DisplayPhotos is set to AllPhotos, so that seems correct as well.

Our Forest and Domain are currently at the 2003 level, so I don't know if that has to do with it. We're running Windows 2008 R2 throughout, so I can easily upgrade that if I need to, but I was hoping to get some advice first.

We're not using SharePoint, so users wouldn't have the option to update it there. We are using Outlook 2013, so I don't know if that would help with anything.

I appreciate any help or suggestions anyone can give me.

Thanks!

-Eric
