Hi All,
We have an issue where our LPE devices (CX3000 and CX600) are booting on our Voice VLAN (using LLDP configured on a HP Procurve 2610) but the IP address the device gets leased is from our Data VLAN. A Windows 2003 DHCP server manages DHCP requests for
the Data VLAN (VLAN ID 1) and a Mitel Controller 3300 manages DHCP requests for the Voice VLAN (VLAN ID 6). I used WireShark to trace the packets on the port the LPE device is connected to and found that both Mitel Controller and Windows DHCP server offered
an address from their Scope but for some reason the LPE device is acknowledging the VLAN ID 1.
Both 'Better Together' and PIN authentication modes fail as the device still gets an incorrect IP address. Our standard Mitel phones boot with no issues and get assinged the correct IP address.
The scopes are setup as follows:
Windows DHCP Server: Scope 10.60.50.0
Mitel Controller: Scope 10.60.51.0
I did manage to get my CX600 to work by disabling DHCP services on the Windows Server then performing Hard Reset on the phone. All went through ok as the phone was leased an IP on the Voice VLAN. Another way I got it to work was by statically assigning
VLAN 6 to the port the phone was plugged in to. However, because we use the LPE devices as a bridge for the Desktop PCs we will need to allocate multiple VLANs across ports so that we can seperate Voice and Data traffic to employ QoS.
We're running Lync Enterprise Edition. Front End Server version = 4.0.7577.184
CX600 version = 4.0.7577.4066
Hardware we’re using:
Procurve 2610 48port POE switch.
Mitel 3300 Controller (DHCP server for Voice VLAN)
Windows 2003 server (DHCP server for Data VLAN)
LPE Devices: CX600 and CX3000
