Hello Community,
Has anyone come across the following issue before and maybe have a resolution?
Scenario:
After recently upgrading our staff to Office 2013 as a voluntary SCCM advert, I noticed a strange occurrence with the Lync 2013 application.
Issue:
When an affected staff member attempts to send an emoticon in a message, the emoticons do not show up. Strangely when clicking on the emoticon pop up window, a grey box pops up where the emoticons should be and a quick mouse over on the grey box shows
different emoticon descriptions at the bottom of the grey box. Adding an emoticon or receiving an emoticon in a message ends up as a blank space rather then the emoticon or even the shortcut characters indicating that there is some sort of corruption
within the emoticon images.
Actions:
- We've attempted this under multiple logins and the issue has been replicated across accounts indicating that the issue is computer related.
- We've also attempted a repair of the application with no success.
- Further to this we've toggled on/off the emoticon options in the IM settings under Tools > Options but once again to no avail.
- We've resorted to doing a re-install of Office however, like all final resolves, this blanket solution does not necessarily assist in root cause analysis.
I will get back to you on whether or not the re-install works however at this stage, I just want to know if anyone has come across this issue previously and if so, I'm curious of the findings.
Many thanks,
