Lync Client sign-in issue with Polycom CX600 being connected via USB

Hi all,

I have an interesting issue that I'm not sure I will be able to resolve, but I'd like to get your troubleshooting tips on this one.

We just installed 3 Lync servers; director, mediation and monitoring. We have our main AD domain at domain.local. We want to be able to use our email addresses(domain.com) as the sip address. We added the additional zone to dns and setup the service records to point back to domain.local servers so our lync clients could sign in using the domain.com sip address. So basically everything is working fine in regards to signing in to the lync client using the domain.com sip address(with some issues with UC integration, but I'm not worried about that right now).

The issue comes in when we are sign into the lync client with the domain.com sip address and then fire up a polycom cx600 and connect it up via USB. It prompts for the sip address, username and password but I believe its looking to authenticate to the domain.com domain versus the domain.local domain. If I change the sip address to domain.local, authentication works fine when conencting up an IP phone. Is there someway I can tell the lync client to use the domain.local domain for authentication when signed into the lync client with the domain.com sip address?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
