Good Day.
we have an existing O365 Tenant and our Mails Exchange 2010 were now migrated to cloud (hybrid setup) but the Lync infra. is still remain in onprem infra. In our Environment, not all users have O365 License so some are still using Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 client. for users with o365 license, they are now using **** 2015/2016. the backend servers are still on Lync 2013 version. My question is, how can i restrict those users with license in using the old Lync 2010/2013 client and force them to use SFB2015/2016? as for non license users, they are still allowed to use Lync 2010 client only (we dont have office 2013 license).
i have created Client Version Policy and assigned it to a test account with O365 license and are using **** 2016. tried to login in different machine using lync 2010 client, was able to login. i've enabled version control with default action: allow, but those **** client users encountered error "skype for business is not a version that can be used to sign in to the server ....". we need to get rid of users that are still using the old version even though they have now the **** license. also, O365 proplus april release were now used and i've created a client policy to change UI from lync 2013 to **** UI (EnableSkypeUI : True). please help.
thank you
Eugene
