How to join a Lync meeting without using a browser?

I have an invitation for a Lync meeting like this:

https://meet.td.com/td/meet/steve.symonds/Q902NND5

What I want to do is open Lync, paste the information from the URL and join the meeting.  I do not want to have it open a browser first.

So, how do I use the information in the link to join the meeting directly from Lync, without clicking on the link first, which causes the browser to launch?  That's just a complete waste of time and resources.
