Polycom CX3000 Setup Question

Hi,

We are setting up our first Polycom CX3000 conference phone with Lync 2010.

I need it to be permanently logged in and available on a dedicated internal extension number and it will also have a DDI associated with it.

Do i have to create a full blown AD User account and Lync enable it for use with this phone (I am assuming this is the case) and then sign into a PC as that account and tether the CX3000 to it to get it signed in and setup?
