Lync SDK not working with sharepoint

I use lync client sdk for getting photo of a particular contact. It works fine in asp.net project. when i move the code to sharepoint, i am getting 'host is not running' error.

what is the way to overcome the exception or any alternative to get photo (read as stream or actual URL will be great) of a particular person from my contact list.
