IM Removal and IM Internal Use

2 questions:

Is is possible to install the Lync 2010 client without IM?  I know you can disable IM after installing the client but can it be removed from the client altogether?

Also, is it possible to restrict the use of IM to only internal users.  Such as if the users are in the office they can use IM, if they are out of the office (home, Starbucks, etc) they can not use IM
