Lync client closes when applying updates

Hi there,

We are currently migrating from Office Communicator 2007 (R2) to Lync 2010. We are using WSUS to deploy Updates.

I noticed that when applying the latest Patch (KB 2684739) that Lync closes automatically when the update is getting applied. This happens if I do it over the .msp package or over WSUS. All active conversations are closed as well and Lync stays closed.

Is this the way how it should be? This is very annoying and didn´t happen with Communicator 2007. Is there any way that Lync stays open?
