When I click the online meeting url in Outlook for Mac 2016 Safari will be opened.
Firstly, I tried to login onto the online meeting from safari as guided but failed. So I tried the link provided in the bottom of the page "Join with Lync for mac or Communicator for mac". Still, nothing happened. So how can I join a online meeting under MAC?
We are deploying Lync 2010 at my company, and I have observed an odd behavior. If I search for a contact in the Lycn client, and click onAdd, I can add that contact to the "Other Contacts" group with no problem. However, if I try to drag a contact from one of my contact groups into the Other Contacts group, it won't let me. Iif I try to right-click the contact and selectCopy or Move, the Other Contacts choice is disabled. This is the case on my Windows 7 desktop and my XP laptop, and everyone I have asked is observing the same problem.
Any ideas? TIA...
I am running Skype for Business 2016 (Windows 7 Pro) using a Microsoft Lifecam camera.
The video settings in S4B show the proper orientation.
My monitors are configured as Portrait. When in a call the image is rotated 90 degrees which is problematic.
2 monitors, both portrait: The video will be rotated 90 degrees on either screen on both my side and the call recipient's side.
2 monitors: one portrait, one landscape; landscape monitor is the Primary monitor. The video will be rendered correctly ( not rotated) on both the primary monitor and the secondary monitor, even though it is portrait

I have exactly the same situation on a second independent computer with similar hardware and also running S4B 2016 under Windows 7.
S4B 2015 worked properly. Please advise.P

Is there a Lync Phone Edition device that can be manually configured for use as a common area phone without a DHCP server to serve DHCP options and sub-options?
I have a remote site that needs a common area phone, but they don't have a DHCP server that will support the sub-options required for a common area phone.
Assistance is appreciated.

I have a client that uses the Jabra9300 with Lync.
She has all her sounds come out of that device. When she want to hear something off the internet she hears dial tone from Lync. When she then closes lync she hears nothing. I am looking to turn of the dialtone that lync provides to the headset.
Hello,
We are in the process of migrating from Exchange 2010 to O365. It is a Hybrid migration. We have only migrated a few mailboxes so far. The only issue is that each time we restart the machines and log back in the SfB client asks for Exchange credentials after we are logged into the SfB client. If I click the X I can IM anyone and so on.
It does this on any machine we log into, so I know this is not a PC issue. We run Lync Server 2010, but I don’t think that is the issue. Note: This only affects people who are migrated to O365. It appears to have something to do with EWS. If I don’t type in my password and instead just close the prompt then I see the following in the ConfigurationInformation of the SfB client:
EWS has not fully initialized. If I type my password in then it changes to EWS Status OK. We have tried various registry tweaks but to no avail. This is not a stored password issue or anything like that.
I have a case open with MS via our O365 portal but not sure if they will help since this might be a Lync Server issue?
When receiving a incoming video call, I accept the call and the speaker volume defaults to zero. Consequently, I can't hear the other party. Once I adjust the speaker volume, I am able to hear the other party.
Is there a way to force the speaker volume to a specific level?
Since we are in VDI, the audio/video controls are not available within the Lync 2013 client.
Suggestions?
Thanks
Ron
I need to configure Lync like my current OCS where users have static conference ID's.
CsMeetingConfiguration
Identity : Global
PstnCallersBypassLobby : True
EnableAssignedConferenceType : True
DesignateAsPresenter : Company
AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault : True
AdmitAnonymousUsersByDefault : True
Any thoughts?
Rick
Skype for Business 2016 really has me pulling my hair out.
I have finally got both the web app and the desktop app working from the internet, but I cannot use it because the call is continually dropped every few seconds and I get an error: call ended because of network connectivity issues Rejoin?
I have tried from several different internet connections. What is the upload bandwidth requirements for hosting a meeting?
If not bandwidth what else could cause my meeting to keep dropping the call.
Additional information:
I am always hosting the meeting from the office connection and it never gets disconnected

We recently switched to Office 365 and up until this month's Tuesday Patch Day, everything was working great. As soon as I installed the patches from 3/12/2013. Ever since then I've had the following issue:
Steps taken to attempt to a fix:
Other notes:
Lately, my horizontal scroll bar keeps backing up (up towards the top) and I have to continually drag it down to read the newer entries, when I let go of it with the mouse, it scrolls back up again. Didn't see a configuration to change.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am creating a script in ASP.NET C# to invoke cmdlets from Lync Server.
I want just list a user : Get-CsUSer and when i run the script i received the follow error code:
Active Directory error "-2147016672" occurred while searching for domain controllers in domain .
I run my script from my local machine developer (it is remote) to the server. The script is :
Runspace remoteRunspace = null; openRunspace("servidor:5985/wsman", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.PowerShell", @"\user", "senha", ref remoteRunspace); using (PowerShell powershell = PowerShell.Create()) { powershell.Runspace = remoteRunspace; powershell.AddScript("Import-Module Lync"); //funciona powershell.Invoke(); Pipeline pipeline = remoteRunspace.CreatePipeline(); string remoteScript = "Get-CsUser -Identity mmiranda"; pipeline.Commands.AddScript(remoteScript); Collection<PSObject> results = pipeline.Invoke(); remoteRunspace.Close(); return results; } public static void openRunspace(string uri, string schema, string username, string livePass, ref Runspace remoteRunspace) { System.Security.SecureString password = new System.Security.SecureString(); foreach (char c in livePass.ToCharArray()) { password.AppendChar(c); } PSCredential psc = new PSCredential(username, password); WSManConnectionInfo rri = new WSManConnectionInfo(new Uri(uri), schema, psc); //rri.AuthenticationMechanism = AuthenticationMechanism.Default; //rri.AuthenticationMechanism = AuthenticationMechanism.Kerberos; //rri.AuthenticationMechanism = AuthenticationMechanism.Basic; //rri.NoEncryption = true; rri.ProxyAuthentication = AuthenticationMechanism.Negotiate; remoteRunspace = RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace(rri); remoteRunspace.Open(); }
i don't know what to do anymore.

I am currently using Office 2013 and Lync 2013 at work.
Lync and Outlook seem to be partially synced up.
Within Outlook, the Lync status appears within the inbox while looking at a message (at the top and bottom of the email in the preview pane)
However, when I create a new email to send and enter the recipient(s), the Lync status doesn't show.
Oddly...it does show a gap in front of the name where the status would be but it is blank
Also (though not pictured here), at the bottom of the new email where it also displays the contact...itdoes show the status.

I've noticed that two Polycom Group series devices that have the Lync Interop licence installed provide good quality (1080p) video calls when making a point to point lync call but if the same two devices connect by joining a Lync conference, by joining via a calendar appointment for example, the resolution drops to 640x368
I documented my findings in a quick blog
http://1plex.co.uk/polycom-group-series-testing-lync-2013/
anyone been successful getting the devices to connect at a better resolution?
I cannot find Skype for Business in my programs or anywhere. I can only find the shortcut within the Microsoft Office 2013 folder. I deleted Skype (reluctantly) hoping it would get rid of Skype for Business which opens automatically and cannot be closed but it did not work. How do I get rid of it, please?
