I want to remove Lync 2013 from my PC completely
Installation of Lync 2013 Client breaks the CRM 2013 add-in in Outlook 2010
Installation of the Lync 2013 Client on a OS with Office 2010 breaks the CRM2013 Outlook 2010 integration. With lync 2010 Everything works fine. But the Installation of Lync 2010 is only a Workaround.
Office 2013 could not installed before mid of next year for testing all other use applications.
I think Lync 2013 will install an additional Office 2013 dll or Change the registry, which breaks the Integration of CRM 2013.
An Help will be apprichiated.

Address Book issues with non-logged in Lync user
We are running Lync Server 2010, and the issue seems to exist on either version of the client (2010 or 2013).
We have a generic account that might be used by any number of users, lets say lookup@domain.com. Users will login to the machine using subdomain\username, but login to Lync using lookup@domain.com with the SUBDOMAIN\lookup username. 10 different people may be using one computer to login to Lync with this account. I know this means downloading the address book for each user, but that seems to be unavoidable.
There are manually added Favorites that are supposed to show the entries as "First Last" but sometimes just shows the number. While attempting to look up users in the GAL, we are greeted with the "address book is preparing to synchronize" message.
The goal is to allow multiple users to login to this "shared" account and have the address book function properly. I have investigated the registry changes that force the address book to download immediately, and while it may or may not fix the problem temporarily, it does not work as a long-term solution.
Any advice is welcomed. Thanks.
It worked for me.

Attendant unable to answer call
Hi All,
Currently my Attendant is having issues answering random calls. The receptionist is in a Response Group.
Using the trace logs and Snooper I found the Attendant client is reporting a SIP2.0 500 Server internal error.
In the body of the is the error detail;
ms-client-diagnostics: 52156;reason="Failed to start audio stream."
Yet the very next phone call in can be answered without doing anything to Attendant.
We are using Jabra Pro 930 USB headsets. Nothing has changed in the environment.
The Audio test and settings in Attendant claim that everything is fine.
Polycom CX600 auto logout issue
How to trace the problem? How to read the log file from polycom?
I got four devices have this issue, all device is brand new.
Thanks.
Lync and UAC installations
Dear reader the following problem occurred in our enterprise environment.
When a Lync 2010 client is exited in the menu, and restarted by the user there is a Lync volume.msi (40233.msi) installation that will run every logout/login action.
We never had this problem as a result Windows UAC needs admin credentials to install this .MSI
After providing the admin credentials Lync starts up and works fine.
The license of Lync 2010 is fine.
I understand its some sort of repair function that repairs missing files, but is there any option for us to ignore or trust this installation ?
What is the function of Lyncvolume.msi ?
And wy after 4 years of production this .MSI installation needs admin credentials suddenly.
Thanks.
Microsoft Lync 2013 Has Stopped Working
I have Lync 2013 w/ an Office 365 Small Business Subscription. I see this is a forum for Lync 2010. I couldn't find the Lync 2013 forum. I hope this is OK or please point me in the right direction.
I have a Windows 8.1 Dell Inspiron 17 with two accounts, Personal and Business. (I own a business and work from home sometimes. The Personal account is so I can "leave work").
Lync works perfectly fine in the Personal account and has worked fine for months in the Business account. Now, it's crashing every time I try to start it up in the Business account. It's still working perfectly in the Personal account. So I'm pretty sure it's not a video, audio, or other driver. All drivers and software is up-to-date. Nothing new recently installed.
MSFT, please help. This is a recurring issue on all our company's laptops. I pay over $1,000 a year for Office 365 for our business. I've never been able to get OneDrive for Business to work right, now this.
Also, I need a straightforward fix or way to diagnose, step-by-step, and in plain English, please. I don't have time for endless trial and error. I'm glad to run any diagnostics or provide logs, though. Again, highly unlikely it's a software or driver issue since Lync works perfectly on this same machine under my "Personal" account / login on this same exact machine.

Microsoft Lync 2013, Conversation history - participant names issue
We use Microsoft Lync 2013 (15.0.4667.1000) 32 bit effectively at work for our meetings and it works quite well. The 'Conversation history' saves the participants list which is quite handy to keep a record of attendees. The issue is:
1) the subject line of the Conversation History stores the participant names delimited by comma. There is no semi-colon separator between names. A comma is inserted between last name and first name as well as between names. It's time consuming to separate out names in such a situation. It will be good to use the MS-Outlook name delimiter format of comma and semi-colon.
2) there is no record of joining-time and exiting-time of attendees.
3) Microsoft Lync is not listed in the MS Communities topics at all. This is the third time I'm posting this question today after being bounced from other communities.
Is there a way to correct any of the above?
Thanks

Lync Client and Call Popup can not resolve Outlook Contacts
This one has kept me running for quite some time:
In the On-Premise Lync Installation of a Client (Lync 2010) I have the problem that neither the "incoming call" toast nor the call window when established will resolve outlook contacts of the users.
Funny thing is - Outlook contacts are searchable from the Lync Client and show up with their numbers. I can call them using this method and their name gets carried over into the call window.
And another very strange thing: Whenever the call passes through a response group first some colleagues have reported they were shown the name of the caller (themselves from their cell)
Additional fact: numbers are displayed in E.164 format in the toast and call windows, i parsed through ucapi logs and traces without finding anything useful. Any suggestions on this?
Volume suddenly increases when a Lync Call starts
I'm using Lync for the Mac version 14.0.5. Whenever the call begins my volume immediately goes to maximum. I'm using Mac OS X 10.8.4. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any know how to fix it?
I originally posted this question here - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macother/volume-suddenly-increases-when-a-lync-call-starts/5cc5c414-038c-49cd-b545-830887e84850 - and was directed to this forum.
The one response I got there was "Go to Lync menu > Preferences > Audio. Are any of the settings there set to maximum?"
Lync's Share Desktop Feature is slow
I am using Lync for Mac version 14.0.9. The desktop screen share is too slow. On average, the screen refreshes about 10 seconds late. This makes it unusable.
The problem occurs with anyone I try to desktop screen share with (both mac and windows). I have tried completely removing Lync and re-installing using this guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2691870/en-us. I don't think this issue is related to bandwidth.
I can successfully use other screen share products (WebEx and Google) without performance problems.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
Lync for Mac - How to customize profile image
We are beginning to roll out Lync for Mac (and windows) and on the Mac side there doesn't seem to be a clear cut (easy) way to customize your icon like you can do in AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc. Knowing that I will get a bunch of calls regarding this, how exactly do you do it? I assume it's pointing to your contact in Outlook 2011, and I checked my contact and it has a custom picture there.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Lync Meeting Add-in Crashes Outlook
Hello,
I am having an issue with the Lync Meeting Add-in. It is crashing Outlook every time I try to edit an occurrence in the calendar. Whether I try to open an occurrence or simply click and drag, Outlook crashes. It says Outlook has stopped working and that Windows is looking for a solution, but never finds one. Once we re-open Outlook, a yellow bar says that an Add-in has caused Outlook to crash, so it becomes disabled, however I still cannot change a calendar occurrence. Could you please point me in the right direction!

ThanksLync 2013 installation problem - dll file missing
Hi,
I've encountered this problem with Lync 2013 installation on 2 different computers.
Error message:
"perfboost.exe - System Error
The program can't start because appvisvsubsystems32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
The first time i got this error was while installing Lync 2013 (32-bit ver.) for a user with an E1 Office 365 plan and an Office 2013 Home and Business suite installed (32-bit version) on a 64-bit Win 7 Pro machine. The installation completed despite the error message but Lync could not connect to the server saying that "the server fordomain.eu cannot be found". I tried the manual configuration with the same result. I'm confident it's not a DNS problem as other users within the same domain are using Lync 2013 with no connectivity issues.
The second time I got the error was when installing Lync 2013 on a new machine, also with Office 2013 H&B 32-bit and Lync 2013 32-bit downloaded from the user's Office 365 account (also plan E1). The installation also completed but I had no problems logging the user in (it's another user, same domain)
Anyone has a clue about this? Should I install the 64-bit Lync version instead? Would it conflict with the 32-bit Office 2013?
Thanks.
Luka
Lync Phone Edition cannot download local root certificate when using O365-address
Hi all,
We have:
- a local Lync 2013 Server running (login is supported either through DOMAIN.local\user or user@DOMAIN.com)
- and make use of Office 365 for our Outlook accounts (only user@DOMAIN.com works)
All users have Enterprise Voice enabled and have their (Lync-)phone (edition) connected over USB to their PC.
When the phone is first setup, after booting first time, it asks for a username and password, through the Lync 2013 client application on the Lync 2013 client to login:
So far, so good, but now I have a problem:
- when leaving the default values as above and 'just' entering a password, the phone downloads the Root Certificate, which is on our local CA-server (as we can't get public certificates for .local domains) and boots up correctly, but..... can't login to O365
for obtaining outlook-data, as O365 doesn't support the DOMAIN.local\user account
- when changing the user name to user@DOMAIN.com, it can't download the local Root Certificate, as it can't find an LDAP-server on the DOMAIN.com, which I can confirm, obviously, when doing the same search:
(According to the Microsoft-site the search is "BaseDN: CN=Configuration, dc= <Domain> Filter: (objectCategory=pKIEnrollmentService)".
How can I overcome this? How can I login (probably using user@DOMAIN.com) and still get the root certificate downloaded by the phone?
Thanks and kind regards,
Peter
Lync 2010 Discovery Issue
Hi,
Im trying to setup external access for Lync 2010 and have an issue with LyncDiscover.
If I use the Lync 2010 client externally, it works just fine (my assumption is that because I have SRV records in place).
My problem appears to be with the mobile client.
Heres how I have it setup:
Internal Web Services URL: Lync2010.mydomain.com
External Web Services URL: WebExt.mydomain.com
Now if I goto https://lyncdiscover.mydomain.com I get:
{"AccessLocation":"Internal","Root":{"Links":[{"href":"https:\/\/lync2010.mydomain.com\/Autodiscover\/AutodiscoverService.svc\/root\/domain","token":"Domain"},{"href":"https:\/\/lync2010.mydomain.com\/Autodiscover\/AutodiscoverService.svc\/root\/user","token":"User"}]}}
Any ideas why, externally, LyncDiscover is picking up the internalURL?
I guess I could add lync2010.domain.com to DNS and my cert and it would work but thats another name to my SAN cert.
Any help, as usual, massively appreciated.
